The customer’s main objective was to relocate their voice network with zero downtime for 40 high-priority users and downtime of 48 hours or less for the remainder of their voice network users for a weekend move.
Active Port’s strategy was to install a temporary phone system with voice mail for the 40 high-priority users.
Active Port tested all of the customer’s T1 circuits prior to the relocation with the temporary system.
A system was installed at the new location, telephones were installed and voice mail was set up to mirror the site of origin. The 40 high-priority users arrived Saturday morning with their voice services working.
Active Port beat the goal of 48 hours for relocating the entire voice network. The total for shutting down, transporting, re-installing and turning the system back up was 17 hours.
